You'd do less work if you made less. There's no need to put ornaments and hang pictures everywhere. Sideboards and dressers stacked with crockery and glassware nobody ever uses are equally unnecessary. Only bedrooms need curtains. Sporting trophies should stay at the club where they are won - nobody else is interested in them. Provide boxes where the offspring can put stuff they've made at school. When they're full, sling it all - the kids will already have forgotten about them.

Don't keep anything you don't use at least once a month. Never keep anything for sentimental reasons. No need to wear a different outfit every day.

Basically, most of the problem lies in having too much stuff. It makes work. Many men know this and don't want all that furniture and those ornaments. Too many women don't seem to be able to get their heads round it. Why?
