As to 'working the magic' I have to say that our system, which embeds the executive within the legislature, does provide certain checks which are absent in yours. If Trump had to stand at the Dispatch Box every Wednesday, and answer questions from members of Congress, as the British PM does, or if his Executive Orders were subject to regular Congressional Review and could be overturned by a vote in the House at any time, how would he fare?
