You can talk about history, mythology, colonialism and the Holocaust. You can argue about who is in the right or in the wrong. You can protest, demand ceasefires, war-crimes tribunals, sanctions and every damn thing else all you like.

Smoke and mirrors, all of it.

What you need to do is ask one question, and keep asking and digging until you find the answer.

Cui bono? Who benefits? Who is going to end up richer, more powerful and safer after all this? Answer that question, and the how, where, when and why will become obvious.
