You can reject facts all you like, but it doesn't make a difference. "Eppur si muove", as Galileo put it. Some things are just there, whether we want them to be or not, ad some are not there, however many people believe in them.

If we are part of a Universal mind, then said mind is a few sandwiches short of a picnic. IMHO. As I've said before, any intelligent designer would place the brain in the chest cavity, not stick it up on a fragile, easily-cut or boken stalk!

It's all back to anthropocentrism. The need for people to hope/believe/think/feel that we are in any way significant or relevant in terms of the Universe. Again, that doesn't change the facts.
