Wrong-headed view. The most important thing any of us decides on is what do we do with our lives? Currently, most of us have little or no choice except to work in a job or jobs we are unhappy in, often in environments which are physically or psychologically toxic, and which leave us in mental and physical states where we are incapapble of doing anything but eat, sleep and mindlessly absorb media pap. If you know, on the other hand, that you will always have enough coming in to ensure your physical needs are met, you are free to do the things that will meet your intellectual and emotional needs. In most cases, these will involve things that help meet the needs of others.
