With me, it's also 'two times', instead of 'twice', as in "our new formula kills two times as many bacteria as the leading brand'. Also, how come 'gift', which for the last 60-odd years has been a noun, is now suddenly a verb?
Originating, as I do, in Gods' Own County, I must of course bemoan the utter lack of use, in the rest of the country, of the correct second person singular.
For the record 'thee/thou' is second person singular, 'you' is second person plural and 'youse' is an abomination!
While we're about it, the plural of 'referendum' is 'referenda' and that little river running through the park or valley is a 'beck', not a 'stream', 'brook' or, fate forfend, a 'creek'!
