What hook? If it was anyone else, you'd say that Harry was an adult who had made his own choices and that his father was no longer under any obligation to feed him, clothe him, house him or make him an allowance.

If you ran a family firm, and one of your sons married a silly, needy woman, then refused to work at the firm and ran off to America with her. Then plastered nasty stories about you and the rest of your family all over social media. What would you do? House him in company property? Make him an allowance? Invite him to family functions? I rather think not, and I wouldn't blame you for it.

But because it's the Royal Family, everyone's taking sides, taking advantage and making money off it! Because believe me, it's all about the money! About viewing figures and royalties (no pun intended) and book deals and movie deals and very large cheques. Harry doesn't want for brains, if he set his mind to it, he could make a decent living off his own back, but at the moment, people are paying him to sit on his arse and bellyache about his upbringing. Because the Family weren't willing to pay him to shut up. If he wanted them to pay him and house him, they expected him, and his wife, to do the work expected and behave in an appropriate manner. Just as I had to when I was a Civil Servant.

Fact is, the King, and the Queen before him, are not willing to be blackmailed. Also, as a father, the King is no longer obliged to support Harry financially -especially after all the nonsense!
