We don't do the Talk about race because it's not a practical necessity for us, is it? White kids are less likely to get harassed or arrested just for walking down the street, or driving the 'wrong' kind of car etc. Racial profiling doesn't happen to white kids

We can, many in this country do, talk to our children about not being prejudiced about colour and teating everybody equally and so forth. They get the same kind of thing at school as well. But parents here in the UK are also likely to tell their kids to stay out of various areas based on class, not race. To stay away from that 'rough' area so they won't get beaten up, or to stay out of that 'posh ' area so they won't be accused of making trouble. Race seldom enters into it because PoC can be found in both kinds of area and all classes. 'Class profiling' happens to everyone here.

But it still comes down to the fact that most kids will eventually ignore or reject anything that comes from authority figures. It's part of growing up, we all do it as kids and we all have to accept our limitations as parents.
