But every monarch since William I has been an outright foreigner. Take the current Queen -German father, Franco-Scots mother. Her husband was a Greek of Danish ancestry and her eldest son married into an aristocratic Anglo-French line. Her uncle should've married a German princess, as all his ancestors back to George I had done, but he let the side down by running off with an American floozie. Her grandsons have also let the side down. The eldest has married a daughter of the English gentry, rather than the Anglo-French aristocracy, and his (half?) brother has run off with an American floozie! A PFW/BWISH floozie at that!
