To answer with faith is not to answer. It won't do. One can have faith in so many things - devices, theories, philosophies, people - and one will always be let down.

The shifting, mercurial nature of your God, all-loving Father AND genocidal tyrant, does not render him non-God, it merely puts him among the ranks of all the other gods. Powerful, perhaps wise, but all-too-human. In his need for worship and devotion, he proves himself unworthy of either.

Belief is not an issue for me, I have long gone past that. I simply will not worship. I will not bow down or bend the knee - no-one should. it lessens us.

Whatever gods exist - and the Universe is vast, and contains much we don't know about - they are as much a product of quantum fluctuation as we are. They are our peers, not our masters.

If there is a Creator, an Ultimate Source, then they are so different from us, so far way from us, that they probably aren't even aware of us, and certainly not concerned with us. Whatever great purpose this Universe might have - if indeed it has any - it is as beyond our grasp as we are irrelevant to it.
