This is what happens when you associate with the delusional. The wilfully ignorant and congenitally weak who desire nothing more than to live without thought or question, under a strict rule that makes every decision for them. An ascetic death-cult that perceives life as something to be endured in the hope of something better afterwards.

We come out of oblivion, we accumulate the collection of memories and behaviours that constitute a ‘person’, then we return into oblivion. The matter that makes up our bodies will change its form. The memories and behaviours will vanish when the brain ceases to function. In between it is up to us to decide what makes us feel good, useful, loved. You made a poor choice, you have the right to change that choice into something that suits you better. If this drives a wedge between you and the ignorant and weak, you have a right to be sad about it. But for their sake, not yours. You have the chance to realise yourself, but unless they also choose, they never will.
