This happens with names, people associate specific names with particular kinds of people. Thus, my wife opines that she's never met a Fiona who didn't have large breasts and a lisp. Also, many years ago, when I was introduced ot the gf of a friend of mine, she seemed to be having some giggling issues. When I asked her why, she said that when she heard the name Tony, she expected to meet a slender olive-skinned charmer with slick black hair and a big white-toothed grin, not, and I quote, "A stocky, bearded, pony-tailed Yorkshireman who couldn't smile if his life depended on it!"
It's unfortunate that sometimes these associations escape from the heads of individuals to become memes. In the age of social media, it just happens faster and goes further, but doesn't last as long! Hang in there!
