There's an old Jewish story of a young man in a village who decided to become an atheist. So after making some enquiries, his parents sent him to a nearby village where there was a man called Jacob the Atheist who could teach him.
On the appointed day the young man arrived at Jacobs' house and was shown into the study. There he found Jacob the Atheist, intently studying Torah. Jacob looked up and welcomed the young man.
"So," he asked, "you're here to learn to be an atheist? Tell me, how much do you know about Torah?"
"Nothing." The young man said. "I'm an atheist."
"No you aren't!" Jacob told him. "You're an ignoramus. If you want to be an atheist, you have to know an awful lot!"
