There are so many cases where parents and community fail kids. The best parents can still fail if the community they are trapped in has the wrong culture. The root cause of this being capitalism and the economic and social inequalities that result from it.

On the other hand, I am sure that there are some folk who are just evil gits and always will be. What's needed is a reliable way to tell the person who needs help from the one who doesn't want it because they like what they are!
