The wrong kind of globalisation got us into this, it will take the right kind to get us out.
The wrong kind:
Unrestricted international travel, which is neither a right nor a necessity and is not only carrying disease, crime and terrorism around the world, but destroying our atmosphere with unnecessary pollution.
Porous borders. Throngs of people running around Europe in particular, under freedom of movement. Unchecked, untraceable, uncontrollable.
Economies so entangled with each other that a crisis in one causes the same in another. Countries should maximise self-sufficiency in food production if nothing else. Multinational companies who can blithely abandon their employees in one country to exploit those in another.
The right kind:
Transnational bodies with the funding and authority required to set, monitor and enforce standards of public healthcare, environmental responsibility and population control. And if enforcement means armed intervention, so be it!
