The typical result of 'top-down' socialism. As I may have mentioned elsewhere, if socialism is to work it must be grown from the bottom up, starting with local co-operatives exchanging foods and services. That said, from my viewpoint, there is absolutely no interest at all in socialism on Medium. At least, nothing that I, as a working-class Englishman, would consider Socialism. Even Bernie Sanders is somewhat to the right of Boris Johnson!

The emphasis of the so-called 'leftists' on Medium seems to be about social change and the decent treatment of minorities. There seems to be no appreciation of the fact that this can never happen under a system dominated by corporate, predatory, capitalism.
