The Silent Majority have been given a global voice and are thus revealed for what they are - unthinking fools who hear only what they wish to hear. It's ther same as pub conversations in the 70s and 80s: try to introduce some nuanced thinking, a little critical analysis or, God forbid, a hint of compromise or at least pragmatism, and you'd be shouted down!

Now the politicians not only know what the people actually think, but feel driven to give them what they want. But a true leader doen't give thier people what they want, but what they need!
