The Roman invasion, the Saxon colonisation, the Viking colonisation, the Norman conquest, the Hundred Years War, the Spanish Armada, the Anglo-Dutch Wars, the support for Jacobite rebellions, the Napoleonic Wars, the Great War, the Second World War....I've probably missed a few.

The effects of Brexit? A little more paperwork on borders, because there is and will always be a trade deal. There is too much money to be made to allow significant trade barriers. Capitalism is definitely global, not nationalist. Oh, and a highly-efficient and successful Covid vaccination programme in the UK while the EU's centrally-coordinated programme is dropping the ball more often than an England fielder!

Also, if I were you, I would take the perfomance of the celebrated double-act Ginger and Whinger with a substantial dose of sodium chloride. Harry has always hated the 'Firm' since his mother died. His relationship with and marriage to Meghan merely accelerated the process of escape he had begun by insisting on fighting on the front line in Afghanistan. He is an extremely clever bloke who is playing the lot of them like a harp!

We British didn't vote for Brexit out of racism or nationalism. We did it out of tiredness. We're a bunch of home-loving Hobbits who just want to be left in peace. We've had our go as Top Nation and it cost us far more than it gained us (at least us ordinary folk) and we'd really like it if our politicians would stop pretending we're still a great power and concentrated on looking after their own people - us! We can see the EU collapsing in another Franco-German war before long, and this time we want no part of it!
