The real problem is that left-wing ideas are often complex and nuanced, while right wing ones tend to be simple and easily reducible to simple, declarative sentences. People are, by and large, stupid, and lazy and can't be bothered to to work their way throuhg left-wing thoughts, so they listen to the onws who say simple things like "It's the immigrants!" or "They're coming for your guns!"

You don't counter that by banning people or denying them a platform. You counter it by coming up with similar statements: "Free health care for everyone!", "No more dead kids!", "Higher taxes on bilionaires!" Because at the moment, the dim-witted public really have no idea what the left stands for.
