The problem with dialectic methodology is that it assumes both views are reasoned and that valid debate is possible. Fine when true.

Sadly, the views of racists, misogynists and so on are rarely based on any kind of reason. To try and argue from the viewpoint of such people is difficult for a reasonable person.

To try and examine such beliefs is to gaze into the abyss, and that, as we know, has consequences!
