The only thing that concerns me about this is teenagers. Children know their own minds, even if they sometimes find it hard to express. Adults should know their own minds, if they can get round the pressure to conform and don't allow themselves to get distracted.
Teenagers, however, don't have minds! Leaving aside research about the effects of puberty hormones on the brain, every parent knows the process. Basically - and usually right through the most important of their school years -teenagers are over-emotional, completely irrational, incapable of thinking straight or of knowing their arse from their elbow.
Key life-decsions should never be taken during this period. Which is why the education system needs reforming and why teenagers should not be allowed to begin medical transitioning. Let them dress and behave how they choose. But nothing irreversible should be done until their systems have settled down and their brains are working properly again.
