The game is expensive, and for that reason alone I will not be buying it anytime soon.
BUT. It is far too late for any boycott of anything connected to JKR and her creations to be effective or meaningful to her. She's already as rich as Croesus, so you're wasting your efforts. What you ARE likely to negatively effect are the jobs and livelihoods of lower-paid people in the organisations making the commodities in question. Not the hyper-rich bosses, or the techies who are already on their next commission, but the admin assistants, manufacturing and packaging staff and so forth. They are the ones who will face pay-cuts or lay-offs if the game makes a loss. They are the ones the virtue-signallers and protestors will do real harm to: I hope they'll be proud of themselves!
Just remember that the decades-long consumer boycotts of South African commodities did nothing but harden attitudes in the white majority, but did damage the lives of the Black community there even more.
As a Trade Union rep and Branch Chair, I supported and helped several trans people over bullying and other concerns. I am and always have been in support of everyone, of whatever colour, gender, sexuality and so forth getting fair and equitable treatment and their share of due dignity and respect.
But that does NOT give them, or anyone else, the right to tell me what products I should and should not consume! Nor does it give them the right to get in my face about my personal choices! That is not only wasted time, but it is also bad manners. Pissing people off will not help your cause!
