Or what really went on…

- In the beginning, God project-managed the creation of the heaven and the earth.
- And the Earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
- And God said “I’m getting bloody soaked here! Can we have a bit of light?” And the contractor said ”Keep your shirt on, Gaffer! Do You have any idea how long it takes to get a self-sustaining fusion reaction going?” And God said “What am I paying you people for?” And a bit later, there was light.
- And God saw the light, and it was OK. And God said “Why is it moving?” And the Contractor said “Well, it has to go round the world, dunnit?” And God said “I thought the world was supposed to be flat?” And the contractor said “Look, Chief, I’ve done dozens of these. If you make ’em flat, they’re unstable, and the cats eventually push everything off the edge.”
- And half the world was dark, and half was light, and God said “Let’s call it a day!” And the contractor said “Good word for it!”
- And God said “OK we need to separate heaven from earth. Some kind of firmament?” And the contractor said “With or without stars?” And God said “With, I think.” So they built the firmament and called it the sky.
