Space can only be defined in terms of the distance between material objects, and thus cannot exist in the absence of matter.

Time has multiple definitions.

At its most basic, it is tied to the increase of entropy and thus cannot exist in the absence of energy and is linear and finite.

Time is also cyclic in terms of planetary rotation and orbit. The sun comes up, the sun goes down. The seasons follow each other throughout the year. These cycles are a fundamental influence on life.

Subjective time -time as perceived by intelligent beings - is a mass of wibbly-wobbly, timey-wimey stuff influenced by age, memory and mood.

Our sense organs are limited in the range of stimuli they react to. Our brains are limited to working on those stimuli. Out thoughts are limited by the signs (language) with which we designate and share these stimuli. There is almost certainly a great deal more to the Universe than we can ever perceive.

It may well be that all our theories and beliefs are like the idiots' tale "full of sound and fury, signifying nothing".
