So many people caught between a rock and a hard place! You work hard, you qualify, you get the job, you have status in the larger world. Then your own community turn round and lambast you for not being 'authentic'!

I remember hearing Black people saying that about President Obama. More rdecently, there were grumbles among the Hindu community about Prime Minster Sunak reading from the Bible at the Kings' Coronation.

My point being, that there is no winning at this game! Too many people on both sides are uprepared to acknowledge that the other side might ever have done anything well or properly.

In this country, while there is anti-Black bias still happening, it is not nearly so intense as in the US. At one time, when one heard of trouble, it was more common to assume the offenders were Irish than Black. Nowadays, the 'blame default' tends to be set to 'Muslim'.

Though according to ancient tradition, the ultimate blame for all ills rests on either the French (Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays), the Germans (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays) or the Yanks (Sundays).
