Sheesh! What a fudge! But then I suspect that somewhere in the background of this are representatives of those cultures (we all know which ones, don't we?) who still think that a girl should be married off as soon as she starts to bleed.

Used to be, everyone under 21 was a child, end of. But then they started mucking about with it. Here in the UK, the age of consent was a half-arsed attempt to put a stop to child prostitution while still allowing upper and middle-class families to marry their daughters off young. The the introduction of age restrictions on purchase and (public) consumption of alcoholic drink came in in the 1920s. The legal age for purchasing tobacco was 16 until 2007. In 1969 the age for voting, and thus age of majority was lowered from 21 to 18, but it was not until February 2023 that it was made illegal for those between 16 and 18 to marry. In the meantime, every political party bar the Tories wants the voring age lowered to 16!

Just when does a person stop being a child and become an adult? To me, they stop being a child when puberty kicks in around 12-13 and become an adult around 20. Everyone between those ages should be declared non compos mentis and locked away in secure compounds with 24/7 video surveillance, contraceptives in the food and drink, tough old battleaxes to do the cleaning, retired Sergeant-Majors and Chief Petty Officers for any necessary discipline, the opportunity to shout "You're so unfair! You're boring! I am not your slave!" and "You're so embarassing!" at their parents for 15 minutes a week and no sharp objects. Then after a few years of shagging, wanking and lying about the place in a sulk, they'll be ready to be let out to resume their education and their lives with fully-functioning brains.

In the matter of paedophiles, I favour euthanasia. Note that 'euthanasia' means easy, happy or good death. Therefore I would be every easy and happy to see these scum have a good death by being hanged, drawn and quartered!
