Sheesh. Does my head in when somebody says or displays 'my pronouns are...'! Like I can't tell by looking at you? If you present as female, I'll use female pronouns and never mind your chromosomes or genitalia! Same applies if you present as male.
As to 'non-binary', I'm far from happy about this. I've only encountered a few self-styled non-binary people, but I've noticed they come in different types. Some belong to a subculture that stresses androgyny as a 'style' in the manner of the New Romantics of yesteryear. Others are clearly deeply confused about their entire identity -not just their gender one. Another bunch seem to want to have their cake and eat it (ie playing male or female depending on what gives them the advantage at the time). Then there are the ones who are doing it for attention, which speaks to a different set of problems. About this one, I'm going to wait and see. Homosexuality and transgender have both been around a long time, but non-binary or gender-fluid seem of relatively recent origin, so no hard and fast rules just yet, OK?
