Prior to the emergence of the term 'woke', I used to refer to such people as either 'silver-spoon socialists', or 'duckspeakers'. The first because of their middle-class concern for social reform and equality in preference to economic change. The second (which is Orwellian) for their tendency to blurt out a string of rote-learned aphorisms, truisms and catch-phrases without once thinking about the actual topic under discussion. Now I use 'woke' because I'm fed up of explaining what I mean by the other two!

For the record, I prefer 'duckspeaker', or even in some cases 'doubleplusgood duckspeaker'.
