Point is, it's cheap, something that could be printed off the average home desktop setup. Thick card, gold leaf and so forth would have cost a lot and Charles III, unlike the two predecessors holding that regnal name, is something of a miser. He spent much of his adult life trying to restrain his mothers' and grandmothers' extravagance and taste for old-fashioned grandeur. He failed to tackle Grannys' alcoholism, but never mind - old girl was so well-pickled she lived to be a hundred!

The same goes for the proposed 'stripped back' Coronation. No robes - suits or military uniform for the blokes. The Peers of the realm will wear their House of Lords issue ermine and won't get coronets. Same for the clergy -wear what you've got. Camilla and Kate might get a new frock each. Bloke's as tight as a ducks' arse and I don't blame him!

As to Charles vainly pursuing the approval of 'progressives' and the 'Woke' crowd, I really doubt it! Past behaviour shows complete failure on his part to give an airborne fornication for what people think. He has hs own ideas and ideals and they are what he's going to follow. He's too long in the tooth to change now. He's also fully aware that abolition of the monarchy would completely destroy the British state and society. Because people have looked West, seen Reagan and Bush Jr and Trump and the hellhole the US is rapidly becoming. They look East and see Macron fumbling and Germany crumbling after the departure of Merkel. They see what being a republic leads to and they want no part of it! The only option would be to replace the Mountbattens with either an elected monarchy or a proven descendant of Harold Godwinson. Whereupon Charles Mountbatten could and would become a full-time environmental and human rights campaigner and cause all kinds of upset!

Also, and I'm getting weary of explaining this, the Royal Family (or at least the working members thereof) are not funded by the taxpayer. The rents and other income from Crown estates (government property) are paid into the Treasury. From them, according to a strict formula, the treasury disburses to the monarch a percentage of these funds in the form of the Sovereign Grant. These funds are then used by the Monarch to support the official functions and administrative infrastructure needed to carry out official duties. These are less than they used to be. The Queens Flight was merged into No 32 Squadron RAF in 1995. Britannia was retired in 1997. The Royal train, Royal helicopter and Royal

Mews (which handles official cars as well as horses and carriages), are run from the Grant, while aircraft and ships can be chartered as needed by the Royal Family should they be unable to use scheduled services. I would not be surprised to see the Royal train sold off and many of the old coaches sent to museums before long. Royal residences are already being offloaded, with Crown ones being handed back for government use and Balmoral Castle being turned into a museum.

Charles is downsizing, and I can't say I blame him! He's also a tightwad, but as a Yorkshireman, I can't complain about that either!
