Pakistan is not at war. Egypt is not at war. Syria is a mess. Therefore only those passengers originating in Syria could be called refugees, but they clearly were not.

Some simple statements of fact.

1) People who are forced out of their home country, cross one border, set up camps near said border, and wait there until they are allowed to go home are refugees.

2) People who leave a country for another country, looking for an easier life in said second country because they can't be arsed to stay and work to improve conditions in their home country are migrants.

3) Migrants who go through the proper processes as laid down by their destination country and ewho travel there by legitimate, safe routes are legal migrants. Entitled to the protection of law.

4) Migrants attempting to gain entrance to a country without going through the proper process and via ad hoc and often unsafe routes are illegal migrants. Entitled to be scooped up, put in detention centeres and eventually sent back where they came from or to a country willing to accept them. They travel at their own risk and responsibility.

5) Any healthy man of military age fleeing a war in his home country is neither a refugee nor a migrant. He is a deserter and should be presented with a white feather before being sent home to face a court-martial.

8) Any sovereign country has the right to refuse admittance into its territory (land or maritime) to anyone it does not wish to admit. Nor is it under any obligation to help or assist those who have netered its territory without proprr permission.

On their own heads be it.
