Our reality is what we perceive. It is bound by the limits of our sensory organs and the ability of the mind to make sesne of them. It is unique to each individual. Language is a code with which we attempt to reach consensus on common elements of our differing realities and through which we share realities we do not directly perceive.

Signs and the signs of signs. Images and images of images. Ultimately simulacra and simulacra of simulacra. Hyper-reality. The collapse of consensus reality as people choose the hyper-reality they prefer.

Manufactured reality began with sedentary society in the Neolithic and Bronze Ages. Gods and Kings, then ideology, defined truth for themasses. The communcation explosion has removed the ability of Authority to control the individuals' reality. For every reality there is now a counter-reality, that one merely has to click to find. Eventually everyone will be able to construct their own reality. We merge with the AIs we use to create that reality, becoming post-human gods in our individual universes. An end to existential absurdity.
