On the one hand, selective breeding (which has been going on for thousands of years) is marginally better than shooting the poor beasts full of hormones. That said, it's clearly been done improperly here. The idea should be to breed for size, muscle mass and a low fat-to-muscle ratio, not for fast growth, which if accelerated too much can cause health problems in ny animal (or indeed plant). Of course, chickens bred for size and muscle would have bigger bones, but not so much as to cause issues.
Tip for those who do eat chicken. If, after thorough cooking, there is still red colouring in the bones and on the meat close to them, it means the chicken was slaughtered before it reached full adulthood, and was therefore probably one of the force-grown ones. Bit ex-post-facto, but at least you'll know how your supermakret or butcher sources their chickens.
I, personally, am not in denial about being an apex predator, and will continue to eat meat. Especially pork, if only because a full-grown boar pig is six feet and seven hundred pounds of fast, strong, sharp-toothed, highly-intelligent psychopath, as prepared to eat you as you might be to eat it! I should know, my uncle used to farm the bloody things!
Also, all hamsters must be exterminated!
