OK, so JK Rowling is a) damaged and b) not terribly bright. That she is damaged is clear from her own accounts. That she is not very bright can be gleaned from a reading of the HP books (pedestrian prose, glaring plot-holes, deep structural mistakes and cursory, ill-thought-out world-building).

She deserves a degree of sympathy for the abuse she suffered, certainly. But why grown-up, supposedly intelligent people should pay an ounce of attention to her half-hysterical, ill-informed ramblings on other subjects is entirely beyond me!
