Obviously, it's hard to determine the facts, but the deafening silence from Majors' team does say a lot. The question though, is what that silence says!

Is it one that says "He's guilty, no point in trying to brazen it out or eny it, we'll just dig a deeper hole."

Or one that says "The accused is Black, the accuser is white, we're on a hiding to nothing here."

If the former, Majors' best bet it to 'put his hand up to it', as we say over here, take his licks, get his therapy, pay any damages and put it behind him. This would be the best platform from which to rebuild his career, or at least a career.

If the latter, it is a frightening example of the power of entrenched systemic racism in the US!

One is reminded of the Depp/Heard business. On the face of it, Depp was an obvious candidate to be an abuser, given his volatile temperament and batshit-crazy lifestyle. But he fought hard to clear his name and it was drawn-out and messy and his career may not survive it. Perhaps that it what Majors is trying to avoid?
