Not really. In 1066 the last English King was deposed by a Frenchman, and we've been ruled by foreigners ever since!

First the french Angevins and Plantagenets, then the Franco-Welsh Tudors, the Franco-Scots Stuarts, the Dutch William of Orange and finally the Germans, starting with George I.

The current Queen had a German father and a Franco-Scots mother. She married a Greek of Danish descent. Their son (Prince Charles) married a woman of French extraction. But Prince William has married an Englishwoman, so that if Prince George does come to the throne, he will be the first King of England in almost a thousand years to have any English blood!

So, not complicated, just annoying!
