Nobody ever is. What is vital is the ability to adapt emotionally to the deep changes that are going to happen. Something you seem to have done admirably. Something a 30 year old can't do so well.

When I was 20, the world was a chaotic place that bounced me around like a pinball from one state to the next. When I was 30, it was a place that made sense and where I carried out my daily occasions in a calm routine. The world hadn't changed, I had, I'd simply started to ignore and avoid change, rather than plunge into it and accept it as the norm.

The natural lifespan of a human being is 40-45 years. By the standards of our ancestors you were middle-aged when you had your first child. The only reason 20 is now considered young is because we've created such a beastly complicated world!
