No they don't. At least 80% of humans don't search for anything if they can possibly help it! 80% of people can be summed up as a bunch of selfish, cowardly, greedy, lecherous, dim-witted, criminal-minded layabouts. All they want is food, drink (preferably alcoholic), comfort, sex and entertainment. Most important of all, they want these things without having to work for them. System after system has been tried, but only two have ever worked: the whip or "if you don't work, you don't eat".

You end up with the 20% of people who actually give a damn and are prepared to work, think and generally get things done, managing the 50% who can be made to work while trying to protect them from the 30% who prefer to steal from the ones that work.

You'll get nowhere being optimistic about people, they'll nearly always disappoint you!
