No. Employers aren't paying enough, demanding too much for what they do pay, and creating toxic work environments by encouraging employees to compete rather than cooperate. There is less welfare in the US than here in the UK, but it's still slim pickings here and life on benefits is dreary. But it's still less self- destructive and damaging than what passes for 'employment' nowadays.
