Much of what you say is right, of course. Certainly in a young country suh as yours, tolerance should be easy to come by. But when you consider, say, the attitude of many Brits to the French, that comes less from stereotyping than from centuries of conflict. From being, for so long, a troublesome minor province of a French empire. Of being dragged into dynastic squabbles by our French Kings and so forth. That lot have been a pain in our collective behind since 1066, and it's bred a lot of dislike and mistrust. Hard to shift that.
