Much of Christian theology is Greek, and the Classical Greeks loved threes or multiples of three. The Triple Moon Goddess, for instance. The notion that God had three aspects: Zeus (Sky), Poseidon (Sea) and Hades (Underworld). The Furies and Fates came in threes, as did the Judges of the Dead. There were Nine Hesperides and Nine Muses, and so on. When Paul mixed up Essene Judaism with Greek Mystery Cults and Vegetation Myths, it was that which gave rise to the concept of the Trinity.
When we look at Christmas honestly, we see that only the current name has anything to do with Christianity. Even the Nativity scene is simply an echo of the Birth of Mithras, the Sol Invictus, at midwinter. All the other stuff, the trees, logs, presents and feasting came from the native Pagan religions of Europe which the Christians suppressed.
It is worth remembering that while the Abrahamic faiths are pure philosophical constructs, manufactured by people for political or commercial reasons, the Pagan faiths are simply explanations of natural phenomena mixed with tall tales about our ancestors.
