Metaphysics and philosophy exist because, for better or worse, the human psyche is not purely mechanistic and survival oriented.
This fact, an anomaly in nature in so far as we are currently aware, calls for as close and thorough an investigation as the physical facts around us do, but requires a different methodology.
It isn't a question of answering all questions - I don't think we'll ever be able to do that - nor is it one of greater or lesser validity between the different methodologies. They shouldn't be in competition because they aren't serving the same purpose. It would be like saying an oven is more valid than a pen. The statement is meaningless because an oven is for cooking and a pen is for writing: both can do things the other can't, but that's because they were designed for differet purposes.
