Memories should not be called up in isolation. They are part of a continuum, an arc. "Because of that, I did this, and the result was such, which in turn led to...and so on."

This I discovered when having counselling after the deaths of my parents. In unpicking that relationship, I was finally able to link then to now and understand the process that made me who I am.

Then again, I am a builder of narratives, so finding my own story came naturally to me.
