Marvellous story!

In my long-lost youth, I experimented, as one does, engaging in (mutually pleasant but not mind-blowingly ecstatic) encounters with both ladies and gentlemen before entering into a longish and happy period of voluntary celibacy.

I ultimately settled into a hetero lifestyle because I met somebody I loved who happened to be a woman and married her. But it was always more about the relationship than the bedroom gymnastics.

Imagine, if you will, my chagrin in discovering, in my fifties, that asexuality was an option (growing up in the '70s, it wasn't - sex was something everybody not only wanted, but needed back then).

I'm content and comfortable where I am, of course. But I do wonder what would have happened had 'ace' been an option back then. I also wonder how one lives as an 'out' asexual.
