Life survives only at the expense of life. A plankton species which metabolises energy more efficiently than its neighbour will drive said neighbour to extinction.

Humans, like it or not, are currently an apex predator. Our only predators are viruses, which are evolving rapidly into more lethal forms - Covid-19 was only the start. There are too many of us and a cull is necessary. Nature will do it if we don't. Reduction of human population by a half to two-thirds would restore balance.

We can all eat whatever we either want to, can afford or otherwise obtain. Nobody can or should tell others what they can or cannot eat.
