Leave them alone! Their lives, their choice, right? Not as if it's even new - many women have (and men) have chosen the route of celibacy and non-involvement with the opposite sex over the centuries. The social acceptability of that choice has varied over the years, of course. Nowadays, we outght to know better than to quesrion or criticise personal decisions that are harmless.

My so-called 'childhood' left me in no doubt that women are as capable of, and as prone to indulge in, violent abuse as men. But many victims do not report it, or have nobody to report it to. If I'd said to a teacher "My mum's always hitting me!" I'd have been told to behave better! It should be about human anger, aggresson and violence, not specifically male. My mother was unusual in being physically violent, female vilence is more often verbal or emotional. but it's still there.

At the root of it all? Frustration or arrogance. The root of frustration and arrogance? Economic and power inequality. The answer? Economic and social reform. You can't have one without the other, so any socially progressive movement that doesn't have economic reform as a primary aim is going to fail.

4B has nothing to do with politics or economics. It's a personal choice, that's all!
