Just to inject a sense of balance, Jeremy Corbyn, along with most actual Socialists, is as Euro-sceptic as the most rabidly-nationalist Tory backbencher, albeit for different reasons. As the example of Greece showed, the financial powers of the EU will be marshalled against any really socialist government to enforce right-wing, pro-business polices and government austerity. The EU, whatever it once was, is now a tool of global capitalism.

Corbyn could have followed his instincts and committed Labour to campaign for Leave, but that would have brought rebellion from the Blairites. He was not prepared to campaign for Remain because he didn't believe in the EU and wouldn't abandon his principles. Instead, the Labour Party was officially neutral on the issue. That, of course, didn't stop Blairites speaking out for Remain. Corbyns' unwillingness or inability to muzzle those people made Labour look weak and pro-Remain, which cost them the election.

With a Socialist government in place, we would have had a different Brexit, a better policy for the pandemic and nationalised utilities to protect us against oil company profiteering on energy prices. Not a recipe for massive success, but less of the current mess.
