It's something I've thought about writing an article on myself. To be honest, I know that such a piece would get a lot of people's knickers in a twist and lead to a lot of responses, some of which might be abusive and many irrational. Which would be fine if I wasn't such a cranky old git - too much so to ignore them - and liable to respond with considerable snark.

I'll give the matter some thought. It is, as you say, complicated and deserves a fuller treatment from both sides.
