It's simple, really simple. Working class peole want a full-time, secure, decently-paid job so that they can have a nice house, a decent car, the missus can get her hair done once a month and doesn't have to work unless she wants to or before the kids are old enough. They want two weeks somewhere hot in the summer, nice prezzies and parties for birthdays, a night out once a week and a good blow-out at Christmas. They want to be able to go to the doctors or dentist without worrying about the cost, and to know their kids will get educated to whatever level they can reach without bankrupting the family. Lastly, they want to know that, if they should lose their job, they'll still have enough to live on, and that they'll be able to retire in their sixties and take a rest!
If they had all that, they wouldn't care what anyone else had (or didn't have). If governments would make all that happen (and they could, whatever they say to the contrary), we'd have no problems. Or at any rate, a lot fewer!
