In the 'Mabinogion' the head of Bran the Blessed is said to have remained alive after his death, and been taken by a group of heroes to the site of what is now the Tower of London where, after seven years revelling, they buried it. Since ravens were sacred to Bran, this is the source of the old superstition regarding the ravens that are kept there.
