In the second place, exercising critical abilities on a Disney film is sort of like asking a noted food critic and writer to expound on tinned rice pudding. A waste of talent and skill on a deliberately bland product unworthy of either.

As for Carl and Ellie, he was born forty and she never grew up. They married because nobody else was interested in either of them. Neither of them had the wherewithal to get a decent job, so even without kids they could never afford a holiday, much less an expedition! They had no friends because nobody else could stand either of them. As for Russell, he has all the makings of another annoying loser.
